Bio

Dr. Daniel Goodman was born in Hartsdale, NY in 1960. He graduated from Ardsley High School in 1978, where he was a Varsity letter winner in Swimming and Tennis. In tennis, he was awarded All-Division recogniton 3 times and All-County recognition 1 time. He was chosen to represent Westchester county in the New York State Tennis Championships in 1977.

Dr. Goodman attended undergraduate college at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where he majored in BioPsychology. He played Varsity tennis there for 4 years, and in 1979 won the New England Small College doubles championships. During his junior year, he spent a semester in England and traveled extensively through Europe. He graduated in 1982.

Dr. Goodman was accepted directly out of Wesleyan University into medical school at New York Medical College. He requested, and was granted, a one year deferral from his academic schooling so that he could temporarily pursue other interests. During this time "off", Dr. Goodman participated in Orthopaedic research on knee joint meniscal tears at UC-San Diego Medical Center. At the same time, he became interested in the idea of self-exploration/self-discovery. He completed two intensive weeklong workshops in this area and capped them off with a 4 day solo adventure in the Grand Canyon. To finance his year "off', Dr. Goodman taught tennis professionally and waitered tables at a local restaurant.

Dr. Goodman returned to NY to attended medical school at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY from 1983-1987. During this time he continued to teach tennis professionally and participated in his first of many triathlons.

After medical school, Dr. Goodman completed a year long surgical internship at UC-San Diego Medical Center, during which time he was trained in Orthopedic, Cardio-Vascular, Urologic, Burn and Trauma surgery. However after the year of surgery, Dr. Goodman realized that this field of medicine was not his calling, nor did it fit the lifestyle which he had envisioned for himself.

From 1988-1990, Dr. Goodman worked as an Emergency Room physician in San Diego, CA. During this time, he participated in numerous highly competitive tennis tournaments and multiple long distance triathlons. He learned to scuba dive, hang glide and sky dive. He also continued to pursue his interest in 'self-discovery' by participating in a number of seminars and "fire walks" put on by peak performance guru, Anthony Robbins.

In 1990, Dr. Goodman entered a residency training program in Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He completed his training in 1993 with specializations in CardioThoracic and Pediatric anesthesia. During this time he also worked weekends as an ER physician in Ypsilanti, MI. He acquired a purple belt in Tae Kwon Do and completed his first trail marathon.

In 1993, after completing his anesthesia training in Michigan, Dr. Goodman relocated to his present home in Northern California. He became board certified and has worked as an attending anesthesiologist for over 19 years During this time has became an ultra-marathon runner, a competitive mountain biker and an accomplished multi-day adventure racer. He has coached his children in soccer and AAU basketball for over 8 years.

In 2012 Dr. Goodman decided to redirect his energies and talents. His true passions for healthy living, exercise and self-discovery have motivated him to bring the growing specialty of Anti-Aging Medicine to far Northern California. He has sought to add to his 25 years of medical knowledge and experience, by becoming trained through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. His goal is to provide the public with the opportunity to experience a more proactive, holistic, and integrative brand of medicine. These efforts have led him to create LifeSpan: The Center for Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine…..using medical science to enhance your quality of life!
